Use Essential Oils In Your Bath For Relaxing Day

Make your bath a decadent treat and turn it into a spa experience in your own home using essential oils for relaxation. Bathing with essential oils must be one of the most relaxing ways to attend to your ablutions, and adding soft candlelight to soothe your frayed nerves at the end of a busy day, is a great way to unwind.

Essential Oils are made through steam distillation of botanicals, and they capture the pure essence of the plant. They are potent, aromatic and highly therapeutic. Since one of the best ways to benefit from essential oils is vaporization, putting drops into a hot bath is an excellent way to use them. This is a form of aromatherapy.

Here are some essential oils to use for relaxation

  • Jasmine
  • Lavender
  • Rose
  • Marjoram
  • Clary sage
  • Frankincense
  • Chamomile
  • Ylang ylang

To help the oils dissolve better, add them to the bath with a tablespoon of whole milk or Epsom salts. Add the drops just before entering the bath and use your hands to stir them around the tub.

You would normally add about 7 drops of essential oils to a bath, but if you have a sensitive skin, or have not tried a particular oil, rather first mix the essential oil to a carrier oil or a small amount of shampoo and then add it to your bath.
