Why Nutrition Matters
Less Appetite Does Not Mean Less Need for Nutrition.
GLP-1 medicines can reduce appetite and slow stomach emptying. Eating less can also make it harder to get enough nourishment. Your dietitian helps turn those changes into an individualized eating plan—not simply a smaller plate.
Start With Your Health
Discuss your medication, usual eating pattern, concerns, and goals before choosing the next steps.
Make Eating More Practical
Bring your real questions about breakfast, busy workdays, family meals, shopping, and eating out.
Keep Your Care Connected
Use follow-up visits to revisit your nutrition plan. Medication decisions stay with your prescribing clinician.
Nutrition support for people taking prescribed medicines such as Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound, or Mounjaro. Semaglutide is a GLP-1 medicine; tirzepatide acts on both GIP and GLP-1 receptors. Your prescriber determines which treatment is appropriate.
Care That Fits You
What Does a Dietitian Add to Your GLP-1 Care?
A place to ask questions, solve everyday food challenges, and work on the habits that matter to you.
Support Muscle & Strength
Plan appropriate protein intake and discuss safe strength-building activity with your care team. Protein alone may not be enough to preserve muscle during weight loss.
Eat Well With Less Appetite
Get help choosing realistic meals and snacks, rather than guessing what to eat when your usual portions no longer feel comfortable.
Navigate Digestive Changes
Explore food and meal adjustments that may help with nausea, reflux, or constipation. Nutrition strategies complement—not replace—medical assessment.
Build a Routine You Can Use
Plan for workdays, restaurants, travel, and changing schedules. Follow-ups give you time to ask questions and work through what feels difficult.
Built From the Full Picture
A conversation about your life—not a generic diet handed to everyone.
Personalized, Practical Guidance
Your Plan Should Fit Your Life, Not the Other Way Around.

What Your Plan May Address
Practical Answers to “What Should I Eat Now?”
Your visits can focus on the questions that matter most to you. Not everyone needs the same targets, tools, or level of tracking.
Protein That Fits Your Day
Talk through protein foods you enjoy, meal ideas, and an individualized goal rather than following someone else’s numbers.
Meals for Low-Appetite Days
Discuss smaller portions, manageable meal timing, and backup food options for days when eating feels challenging.
Fluids, Fiber & Comfort
Review fluid intake, fiber tolerance, and symptom patterns to guide practical adjustments suited to your health needs.
Everyday Meal Planning
Leave with clear meal and snack ideas you can use at work, at home, or while eating out—without unnecessary food rules.
Other Health Priorities
Bring questions about diabetes, kidney health, blood pressure, or other nutrition concerns so they can be considered in your plan.
Follow-Up & Maintenance
Revisit your goals as routines, appetite, or weight trends change. A plateau is a reason to reassess, not automatically to eat less.
An In-Person Option at Healthy All Time
Look Beyond the Number on the Scale With InBody.
An optional InBody scan provides estimates of body fat, muscle mass, and body water. Your dietitian can discuss these trends alongside your eating pattern and goals.
Hydration and testing conditions affect results. A scan does not diagnose nutrition problems or measure muscle strength. Ask about suitability, availability, and any separate cost. Virtual nutrition care does not require a scan.

What to Expect From Your Nutrition Visits
Whether you are just starting treatment or have been taking medication for months, the conversation starts with where you are now.
Review Your Health & Routine
Discuss your goals, medications, appetite, symptoms, food preferences, and available labs. Bring the questions you have been trying to figure out on your own.
Choose Your Next Steps
Work together on practical food priorities, meal ideas, and strategies that suit your daily life. Start with changes that feel manageable.
Follow Up & Problem-Solve
Share what worked and what did not. Revisit your plan, discuss concerns, and decide on follow-up timing based on your needs and benefits.

Common Questions
GLP-1 Nutrition, Explained Clearly.
You do not need to have everything figured out before your first visit.
Do I need a dietitian if my medication is already working?
You can be losing weight and still have questions about eating well. Your visits focus on everyday decisions: what to put on your plate, how to organize meals, and what to do when your routine changes.
Do you prescribe Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Zepbound?
No. Healthy All Time Nutrition provides nutrition counseling, not GLP-1 prescriptions, injections, or dose management. Keep seeing your prescribing clinician for medication decisions. We support your nutrition alongside that care.
How much protein should I eat while taking a GLP-1?
There is no single target for everyone. Your dietitian considers your health, body size, activity, appetite, and kidney function before recommending an amount. More protein is not automatically better.
Can nutrition counseling help with nausea or constipation?
Food choices, portions, eating pace, and fluid or fiber adjustments may help some people. Your plan should match your symptoms; increasing fiber is not right for every situation. Persistent or severe symptoms need medical evaluation.
What happens if my prescriber changes or stops my medication?
We can help revisit your meal routine and follow-up plan. Weight regain can occur after treatment stops; nutrition counseling cannot guarantee prevention. Some people need ongoing medical treatment. Make medication changes only with your prescriber.
Will I need a strict diet or special meal replacements?
Not automatically. We start with your preferences, usual foods, budget, and health needs. Together, we choose practical steps rather than assume you need a rigid menu, a supplement routine, or a list of forbidden foods.
Can I meet with a GLP-1 dietitian virtually?
Yes. We offer in-person visits in Bridgeview and virtual appointments where our dietitians are authorized to practice. Tell us where you will be located during your visit so our team can confirm availability. InBody scans are in-clinic only.
Does insurance cover GLP-1 nutrition counseling?
Coverage depends on your specific nutrition benefits, diagnosis, provider network, and any referral requirements. Your medication coverage does not determine coverage for dietitian visits. Our team can check benefits; verification is not a guarantee of payment. Self-pay is also available.
